We provide construction document services for your designs. We believe this phase to be just as critical as the design itself. It has become common place in the industry to provide the bare minimum that code requires to obtain building permits. If the necessary details and information are not thoroughly expressed your vision will, without a doubt, be compromised or end up a mere glimmer of its original intent. This is unacceptable at DCDA. Also, a lot of time and money can be lost during construction if the “plans” are not sufficiently detailed, missing information or simply hard to read. With 15 years of experience in the residential design field we take the lost art of communicating through drawings very seriously. 

As Town Architect of the TND of Haymount, VA. we are responsible for the Architectural harmony of the entire town. By producing 3D models of full streetscapes we are able to explore exactly how a building or home will react with its surroundings all the way down to how much sun the front porch will receive on a late autumn afternoon. Adding this service has in many cases proven to be an invaluable tool. With the ability to see your home at any angle at any time of the year down to the exact day, hour and location you can make critical and informed decisions before it is built. 

The charrette process is an intense design session typically made up of an “architectural charrette team” formed by architects and designers from all over the country invited by the developer or master planner of a community. From a new product line to the architecture of an entire new town, this is an extremely effective and rapid (one or two weeks) means to provide a diverse variety of schematic designs from the hand of several skilled practitioners.
